A connected bicycle-security provider included theft alerts and recovery assistance during the first year of ownership. At renewal, some cyclists continued protection, some retained only basic device functions and others allowed coverage to lapse.
Why customer interviews were needed
App activity could show device use and renewal status, but not how cyclists valued protection without a theft event, how they judged tracker reliability or how bike value and riding context changed over the year. Independent interviews were used to reconstruct the renewal decision without becoming a sales conversation.
