A hypothetical safety-technology company has a device that performs as intended in controlled demonstrations. The open question is whether alert meaning, response behaviour and handovers remain dependable when forklift operators, pedestrians and supervisors work across changing shifts.

How the illustrative evidence would be interpreted

  • Use the pre-shift evidence to identify whether device fit, briefing and local route conditions create avoidable variation before the first alert occurs.
  • Compare live-alert observations with short post-event forms to distinguish a clear alert from an alert that is noticed but not translated into a workable action.
  • Review handover and exception records together to identify whether unresolved issues have a named owner, a clear escalation route and a workable next-shift response.

How the work would be delivered

August Research would define the field-equivalence criteria, scout and assess suitable external sites or participant routes, coordinate permissions and data capture, review evidence at agreed checkpoints, and translate the findings into a decision-ready pack. August Research does not own the sites or facilities used for this work.
